Copenhagen Photo Festival opens May 12th – 20th 2010
PRESSEMELDING:

The festival will present significant Danish and international contemporary photography in art institutions, galleries and urban space offering a wide range of contemporary photography, from art and fashion photography to documentary and photojournalism.

Copenhagen Photo Festival will present a day and night itinerary offering exhibitions, workshops, artists talks and seminars, along with a private view program of satellite exhibitions. Exhibitions and events will be presented by and at: The National Museum of Photography /Det Nationale Fotomuseum, Fotografisk Center, The Museum of Copenhagen (Københavns Bymuseum), Galleri Bo Bjerggaard, V1 Gallery, Galerie Mikael Andersen, Peter Lav Gallery, Martin Asbæk Gallery, Hans Alf Gallery, Cinemateket, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts / Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi, National Gallery of Denmark / Statens Museum for Kunst, 25CPW gallery, New York City, – as well as by independent curators and photographers all over Copenhagen.

Day & Night is Copenhagen Photo Festival’s main exhibition opening on May 12th in the public space of Copenhagen inner city. The exhibition is produced by Copenhagen Photo Festival and will be presenting new contemporary art photography from the international scene. Day focuses on fact and fiction and Night focuses on nightlife and excesses. While Day takes place in broad daylight, Night comes alive at dusk by being projected onto storefront windows, buildings and screens throughout the city.

Day is curated by Charlotte Sprogøe and Night by Jesper Elg.

In collaboration with The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts / Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi the festival will present international artists from the exhibition Day & Night at a conference on the topic Contemporary Art Photography on May 14th 10 am – 5 pm 2010 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
